The Marion Police Department has adopted the "community policing" philosophy. Community Policing involves the Police and the Community working in partnership to solve problems and concerns in new and innovative ways. Some of the methods we use to accomplish this are through Community Watch, directed patrol, working closer with our local schools and churches, and increased public awareness.
