• Have good working locks, preferably Deadbolt locks.
  
  Good exterior lighting, illuminating all entrances.
• Have a neighbor pick up your mail and newspapers when you're out of town.
• Trim all bushes and hedges around your property so the Police can see it easily.
• Participate in Operation I.D., mark your valuables.
• Participate in your local Community Watch programs.

• Where you live; complete address and description of your home.
• When you will be gone. The date and times of your departure and expected time of arrival back.
• Emergency phone numbers, so that we can contact you if needed.
• Let us know if any lights will be left on and if some else will be checking the property also: e.g. feeding animals, watering plants.
• If you would like someone else notified for you in case of emergency, we'll need their name and number also.
